Back in the day we didnt really have the form of source control as we do today. We would have to settle for a network drive or passing a few disks around - but I have finally setup a great system to share and work collaboratively called Perforce.

I have had my eye on this for a few years but never really go around to setting it up, but having now done so I have to say was pretty simple and is very easy to use.

I did follow this great tutorial on how to do just this by reubs who clearly guides you through choosing a server to purchase for a great price, all linux shell commands to setup, to installing perforce and using it with Unreal Engine.

I have been using my setup with a friend for a few days now and am totally happy with it. I can't recommend https://www.digitalocean.com/ enough for its server space and setup tips.

If you are thinking of setting this up, just follow that guide and you will have no problems.

:)
